South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they observed their basketball team notch a victory over the visiting Byhalia Indians (Byhalia, MS), 48-36 in a league game.

In their next game, the Cougars face the Bruce Trojans (Bruce, MS) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, December 12. South Pontotoc will attempt to move on its 7-4 season record. The Trojans enter the game with a 3-6 record after their 74-43 non-league loss to Calhoun City (Calhoun City, MS).

With the defeat, Byhalia moves to 2-5 on the year. The Indians travel to DeSoto Central (Southaven, MS) to face the Jaguars in a non-league game on Tuesday, December 12.
