Maryland High School Basketball - Liberty nips Catoctin
December 5, 2023: Sykesville, MD 21784 Liberty Lions (Sykesville, MD) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Catoctin Cougars (Thurmont, MD), 50-49 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Liberty upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Lions host Gerstell Academy (Finksburg, MD) to play the in a non-league bout on Monday, December 11. The go into the bout with a record of 2-0. Gerstell Academy won 61-51 in their recent non-league bout against Perry Hall Christian (Perry Hall, MD)
Next up, the Cougars play the North Hagerstown Hubs (Hagerstown, MD) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Catoctin will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Hubs go into the bout with a 1-1 record after their 59-50 league win over Smithsburg (Smithsburg, MD).
