Bishop Verot Vikings (Fort Myers, FL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host DeSoto County Bulldogs (Arcadia, FL), 8-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Bishop Verot upgrades its record to 18-7 on the season.

With the defeat, DeSoto County falls to 9-15 on the season. The Bulldogs host Bayshore (Bradenton, FL) to battle the Bruins in a non-league test on Monday, April 26. The Bruins come into the test with a record of 1-11. Bayshore lost 13-1 in their recent non-league test against Foundation Christian Academy (Valrico, FL)
