The Central City Wildcats basketball team scored 53 points and held the host Central Warriors to 41 in the Wildcats non-league triumph on Monday.

The Wildcats now sport a 1-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Edgewood-Colesburg for a Tri-Rivers contest on Tuesday, January 4. Central City will meet a Vikings team coming off a 52-47 league win over North Linn (Troy Mills, IA). The Vikings record now stands at 5-0.

The Warriors (0-7) will now prepare for their contest against Postville (Postville, IA). The Pirates enter the Upper Iowa contest with a 0-8 record. In their last contest, Postville was defeated by Turkey Valley (Jackson Junction, IA), 67-37, in a league contest.
