In Saturday's league match, the host Kirtland Hornets basketball team scored a tight 40-37 triumph over the Independence Blue Devils.

In their next game, the Hornets meet the Cornerstone Christian Patriots (Willoughby, OH) in a non-league match, on Monday, January 24. Kirtland will attempt to better on its 10-3 season record.
