Florida High School Basketball - DeLand overwhelms Matanzas
January 17, 2024: Palm Coast, FL 32137 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the DeLand Bulldogs (DeLand, FL) and the host Matanzas Pirates (Palm Coast, FL), saw DeLand's basketball squad wallop Matanzas by a tally of 54-30.
With the victory, DeLand improves its record to 12-3 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Seminole (Sanford, FL) to confront the Seminoles in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 19. The Seminoles come into the challenge with a record of 11-6. Seminole won 56-55 in their recent non-league challenge against Lake Howell (Winter Park, FL)
Next up, the Pirates confront the Atlantic Sharks (Port Orange, FL) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 18. Matanzas will attempt to improve on its 2-14 season record. The Sharks come into the challenge with a 7-8 record after their 51-24 non-league win over Halifax Academy (Daytona Beach, FL).
