December 30, 2023: Roan Mountain, TN 37687 In Saturday's non-league outing, the Cloudland Highlanders (Roan Mountain, TN) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Coalfield Yellow Jackets (Coalfield, TN), by a count of 63-40.
The Highlanders (8-0) will now prepare for their outing against Unaka (Elizabethton, TN). The Rangers go into the 1A District 1 outing with a 2-12 record. In their last outing, Unaka was crushed by Happy Valley (Elizabethton, TN), 44-37, in a non-league outing.
The Yellow Jackets now hold a 1-7 record. They play next when they host Sunbright for a 1A District 3 outing on Friday, January 5. Coalfield will clash with a Tigers squad coming off a 46-37 non-league win over Mount Pisgah Christian Academy (Oliver Springs, TN). The Tigers record now stands at 11-2.
