The Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls crushed the host Independence Patriots baseball team by a count of 12-5 in Thursday's league bout.

The Ragin' Bulls now possess a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hoke County for a non-league bout on Thursday, May 6. Hickory Ridge will face a Bucks team coming off a 15-5 league loss to Lumberton (Lumberton, NC). The Bucks record now stands at 0-2.

Next, the Patriots face the East Mecklenburg Eagles (Charlotte, NC) in a Southwestern 4A bout, on Monday, May 3. Independence will attempt to move on its 1-1 season record. The Eagles enter the bout with a 0-2 record after their 16-6 league loss to Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC).
