Clinton Maroons (Clinton, IL) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Maroa-Forsyth Trojans (Maroa, IL), 43-33 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Clinton upgrades its record to 21-4 on the season. The Maroons host Shelbyville (Shelbyville, IL) to clash with the Rams in a Central Illinois bout on Thursday, January 20. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 12-9. Shelbyville won 65-19 in their recent non-league bout against Martinsville (Martinsville, IL)

Next up, the Trojans clash with the North Mac Panthers (Virden, IL) in a Sangamo bout, on Monday, January 24. Maroa-Forsyth will attempt to upgrade on its 9-14 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 6-14 record after their 50-18 non-league loss to Staunton (Staunton, IL).
