The Newman Smith Trojans basketball team scored 63 points and held the host Pinkston Vikings to 49 in the Trojans non-league triumph on Friday.

The Trojans now sport a 8-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Reedy for a 5A Region II District 9 contest on Tuesday, December 20. Newman Smith will meet a Lions team coming off a 50-49 non-league loss to Celina (Celina, TX). The Lions record now stands at 9-6.

The Vikings (10-6) will now prepare for their contest against Kimball (Dallas, TX). The Knights enter the non-league contest with a 9-2 record. In their last contest, Kimball ran past Molina (Dallas, TX), 76-24, in a league contest.
