Waterbury Career Academy Spartans (Waterbury, CT) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Derby Red Raiders (Derby, CT), 76-28 in a league bout.

With the victory, Waterbury Career Academy upgrades its record to 9-6 on the campaign. The Spartans host Torrington (Torrington, CT) to play the Raiders in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 7-6. Torrington lost 40-39 in their recent league bout against Oxford (Oxford, CT)
