The Southwestern Spartans basketball team scored 40 points and restricted the visiting New Washington Mustangs to 32 in the Spartans non-league victory on Saturday.

The Spartans now sport a 10-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Morristown for a non-league contest on Thursday, January 3. Southwestern will battle a Yellow Jackets team coming off a 63-51 non-league loss to Union City (Union City, IN). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 11-5.

The Mustangs (9-9) will now prepare for their contest against Providence (Clarksville, IN). The Pioneers come into the non-league contest with a 5-8 record.
