Mississippi High School Basketball - Jackson Academy falls to Starkville
January 23, 2009: Jackson, MS 39211 The Starkville Yellowjackets basketball team scored 62 points and held the host Jackson Academy Raiders to 44 in the Yellowjackets non-league triumph on Friday.
The Yellowjackets now sport a 9-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Noxubee County for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 24. Starkville will confront a Tigers team coming off a 87-48 non-league win over West Lowndes (Columbus, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 10-9.
The Raiders (20-2) will now prepare for their contest against Future Academy (High Point, NC). The enter the non-league contest with a 0-3 record. In their last contest, Future Academy lost by Wayne (Huber Heights, OH), 100-58, in a non-league contest.
