Maryland High School Basketball - Bishop McNamara thwarts O'Connell

The Bishop McNamara Mustangs (Forestville, MD) basketball felled the visiting O'Connell Knights (Arlington, VA), 57-40 in Sunday's league test.

The Mustangs (12-4) will now prepare for their test against Bishop Ireton (Alexandria, VA). The Cardinals go into the Washington Catholic test with a 5-11 record. In their last test, Bishop Ireton went down by Gonzaga (Washington, DC), 67-40, in a league test.

The Knights now own a 15-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rice for a non-league test on Monday, January 19. O'Connell will clash with a Raiders squad coming off a 70-53 non-league win over Pine Crest (Fort Lauderdale, FL). The Raiders record now stands at 8-1.
