The Corinth Holders Pirates basketball team scored 38 points and held the visiting West Johnston Wildcats to 24 in the Pirates league triumph on Thursday.

The Pirates now sport a 5-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Heritage for a Northern 4A contest on Friday, January 5. Corinth Holders will meet a Huskies team coming off a 44-27 non-league loss to Southeast Raleigh (Raleigh, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 11-2.

The Wildcats (4-8) will now prepare for their contest against Wake Christian Academy (Raleigh, NC). The Bulldogs enter the NCISAA Triangle contest with a 2-9 record. In their last contest, Wake Christian Academy was outscored by Nash Central (Rocky Mount, NC), 50-37, in a non-league contest.
