The Apaches (2-3) will now prepare for their contest against Ribet Academy (Los Angeles, CA). The Fighting Frogs enter the non-league contest with a 0-6 record. In their last contest, Ribet Academy was defeated by Bonita (La Verne, CA), 97-66, in a non-league contest.
First Quarter
The first quarter Arcadia came out flat. There were good looks but their shots didn't fall. La Canada moved the ball well to gain a 21-6 lead after one quarter.
Second Quarter
La Canada stayed with similar ball movement and selective shots which allow them to keep pace with what they were able to do in the first quarter. Arcadia started to catch a little rhythm right as the second quarter came to a close.
Third Quarter
In the third quarter you saw the Apache team that has been playing well through the summer and fall. They play an intense style of man defense and got into a rhythm on offense. Though La Canada tried to stay with what got them the lead, Arcadia seem to have their number.
Fourth Quarter
The fourth quarter started with a bunch of bad calls by the officials, disrupting the flow of the game and would seem to have a large say in the outcome of the game! As the Apaches increased the pressure La Canada stumbled, going away from the offense that got them the lead. After more bad calls and about 3 minutes left in the game the Apaches took the lead on what seemed to be a defensive foul on La Canada and made basket by Arcadia. Instead it was a counted basket for Arcadia but the player who made the shot and was thrown to the floor was given a Technical foul his 5th and was disqualified. La Canada would make the free throws to regain the lead. This seemed to put out any fire Arcadia had left. Though they tried, the calls were just to much to over come and beat a good La Canada team.
