The Dowling Maroons basketball team scored 83 points and held the visiting Des Moines East Scarlets to 36 in the Maroons non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Maroons now sport a 11-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Southeast Polk for a Central Iowa Metro - Iowa match on Tuesday, February 3. Dowling will meet a Rams team coming off a 72-45 non-league loss to Ankeny Centennial (Ankeny, IA). The Rams record now stands at 5-9.

With the defeat, Des Moines East moves to 0-14 on the year. The Scarlets travel to Ottumwa (Ottumwa, IA) to meet the Bulldogs in a Central Iowa Metro - Metro match on Tuesday, February 3. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 8-7. Ottumwa lost 63-61 in their recent league match against Indianola (Indianola, IA)
