Illinois High School Basketball - Eastland can't hold off Geneseo
January 31, 2024: Geneseo, IL 61254 The Eastland Cougars basketball team (Lanark, IL), was nudged 51-45 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the host Geneseo Maple Leafs (Geneseo, IL)
The Maple Leafs now possess a 7-17 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Galesburg for a Western Big 6 battle on Thursday, February 1. Geneseo will battle a Silver Streaks team coming off a 63-38 non-league win over Serena (Serena, IL). The Silver Streaks record now stands at 22-5.
The Cougars (17-10) will now prepare for their battle against Winnebago (Winnebago, IL). The Indians come into the non-league battle with a 9-18 record. In their last battle, Winnebago was nudged by Lutheran (Rockford, IL), 68-42, in a league battle.
