The Downey Vikings football squad scored 47 points and restricted the host El Toro Chargers to 13 in the Vikings non-league victory on Friday.

The Vikings now possess a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Jurupa Hills for a non-league battle on Friday, September 2. Downey will play a Spartans squad coming off a 34-0 non-league loss to Cajon (San Bernardino, CA). The Spartans record now stands at 0-1.

Coming up next, the Chargers play the Fountain Valley Barons (Fountain Valley, CA) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, September 1. El Toro will attempt to advance on its 0-2 season record.
