The Water Valley Blue Devils (Water Valley, MS) football overcame the visiting Independence Wildcats (Independence, MS), 47-26 in Saturday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Blue Devils clash with the Senatobia Warriors (Senatobia, MS) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, September 3. Water Valley will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Warriors enter the bout with a 1-0 record after their 27-23 non-league win over DeSoto Central (Southaven, MS).
