In Thursday's non-league match, the visiting Vega Longhorns basketball team scored a tight 50-45 triumph over the Denver City Mustangs.

In their next game, the Longhorns confront the Friona Chieftans (Friona, TX) in a non-league match, on Friday, December 9. Vega will attempt to move on its 5-2 season record. The Chieftans enter the match with a 3-2 record after their 72-40 non-league win over Logan (Logan, NM).
