The Tarpon Springs Spongers basketball team scored 57 points and held the visiting Anclote Sharks to 41 in the Spongers league triumph on Friday.

The Spongers now sport a 7-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Sunlake for a 5A District 8 contest on Tuesday, December 10. Tarpon Springs will battle a Seahawks team coming off a 65-52 league loss to Dunedin (Dunedin, FL). The Seahawks record now stands at 0-7.

The Sharks (3-3) will now prepare for their contest against Mitchell (New Port Richey, FL). The Mustangs enter the non-league contest with a 6-0 record. In their last contest, Mitchell ran past Osceola (Seminole, FL), 68-48, in a league contest.
