Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Twin Valley thwarted by Berks Catholic
January 9, 2014: Reading, PA 19611 The Twin Valley Raiders basketball team (Elverson, PA), was toppled 49-31 in Thursday's league battle with the host Berks Catholic Saints (Reading, PA)
The Saints now possess a 7-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Governor Mifflin for a non-league battle on Saturday, January 11. Berks Catholic will confront a Mustangs team coming off a 69-35 league loss to Wilson (West Lawn, PA). The Mustangs record now stands at 3-9.
The Raiders (4-6) will now prepare for their battle against Pequea Valley (Kinzers, PA). The Braves come into the non-league battle with a 2-10 record. In their last battle, Pequea Valley was toppled by Lebanon Catholic (Lebanon, PA), 58-45, in a league battle.
Fourth Quarter
At Reading, the Saints (4-0, 7-3) outscored the Raiders (2-2, 4-6) by 16 points en route to a convincing home win.
Connor Jack double-doubled in the first half with 13 points and 10 rebounds, and finished with 22 and 15 to lead Berks Catholic.
Lloyd Sarner scored 11 points to lead Twin Valley.
