The Kankakee Valley Kougars (Wheatfield, IN) football defeated the host Wheeler Bearcats (Valparaiso, IN), 35-21 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Kougars face the South Bend Washington Panthers (South Bend, IN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 6. Kankakee Valley will attempt to move on its 1-1 season record. The Panthers enter the bout with a 1-1 record after their 31-13 league loss to Jimtown (Elkhart, IN).

The Bearcats (1-1) will now prepare for their bout against Calumet New Tech (Gary, IN). The Warriors enter the non-league bout with a 1-1 record. In their last bout, Calumet New Tech was toppled by Chicago Mt. Carmel (Chicago, IL), 42-0, in a non-league bout.
