August 30, 2019: Claysville, PA 15323 The McGuffey Highlanders football squad scored 42 points and restricted the visiting Clairton Bears to 27 in the Highlanders non-league victory on Friday.
The Highlanders now possess a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Frazier for a WPIAL 2A Century battle on Friday, September 6. McGuffey will face a Commodores squad coming off a 56-12 league loss to Southmoreland (Alverton, PA). The Commodores record now stands at 0-2.
Coming up next, the Bears face the Greensburg Central Catholic Centurions (Greensburg, PA) in a WPIAL 1A Eastern battle, on Friday, September 6. Clairton will attempt to advance on its 0-2 season record. The Centurions enter the battle with a 2-0 record after their 32-13 league win over Riverview (Oakmont, PA).
