The Vermillion Tanagers basketball team scored 63 points and held the host Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies to 37 in the Tanagers league triumph on Tuesday.

The Tanagers now sport a 7-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Sioux Falls Christian for a A Region 3 contest on Thursday, January 21. Vermillion will meet a Chargers team coming off a 69-59 non-league win over Mitchell (Mitchell, SD). The Chargers record now stands at 8-1.

The Huskies (2-6) will now prepare for their contest against Akron-Westfield (Akron, IA). The Westerners enter the non-league contest with a 1-8 record. In their last contest, Akron-Westfield was routed by St. Mary's (Remsen, IA), 83-42, in a league contest.
