The Hickory Grove Christian Lions (Charlotte, NC) football edged the visiting Lake Norman Charter Knights (Huntersville, NC), 14-9 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Lions face the South Wake Crusaders (Apex, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 24. Hickory Grove Christian will attempt to move on its 3-0 season record.

The Knights (2-1) will now prepare for their bout against Union Academy (Monroe, NC). The Cardinals enter the non-league bout with a 0-4 record. In their last bout, Union Academy was nudged by Mountain Island Charter (Mt. Holly, NC), 68-12, in a non-league bout.
