Oregon High School Basketball - Scappoose tipped by Long
January 20, 2009: Scappoose, OR 97056 The Long Lumberjacks basketball team scored 40 points and held the host Scappoose Indians to 38 in the Lumberjacks non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Lumberjacks now sport a 5-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hockinson for a 2A Greater St. Helens contest on Friday, January 23. Long will confront a Hawks team coming off a 55-31 league win over Ridgefield (Ridgefield, WA). The Hawks record now stands at 10-1.
The Indians (3-8) will now prepare for their contest against Yamhill-Carlton (Yamhill, OR). The Tigers enter the 4A Cowapa contest with a 12-5 record. In their last contest, Yamhill-Carlton nudged St. Paul (St. Paul, OR), 44-20, in a non-league contest.
