California High School Baseball - Livermore loses to Amador Valley
March 27, 2013: Livermore, CA 94550 The Livermore Cowboys baseball team (Livermore, CA), was overwhelmed 5-0 in Wednesday's league outing with the visiting Amador Valley Dons (Pleasanton, CA)
The Dons now hold a 6-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host De La Salle for a East Bay outing on Thursday, March 28. Amador Valley will confront a Spartans team coming off a 14-3 league win over Foothill (Pleasanton, CA). The Spartans record now stands at 4-2.
With the defeat, Livermore falls to 9-2 on the season. The Cowboys travel to Monte Vista (Danville, CA) to battle the Mustangs in a East Bay test on Friday, March 29. The Mustangs come into the test with a record of 2-4. Monte Vista won 4-0 in their recent league test against California (San Ramon, CA)
Game Summary
Ryan Ruley went 2-2, but Livermore Cowboys Varsity still fell to Amador 5-0 in seven innings on Friday at Amador.
Michael Echavia got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. He pitched 4 1/3 shutout innings. Echavia struck out five, walked three and gave up three hits.
The game's last lead went to Amador thanks to a second inning rally that saw one run cross the plate on an RBI single by Ryan Meisenheimer.
Amador built upon its lead with four runs in the sixth. The inning looked promising, as Daniel Jackson tripled, plating Bradley Pluschkell and Echavia to kick things off. That was followed up by Austin Piscotty's single, plating Jackson.
