California High School Baseball - Livermore loses to San Ramon Valley
May 10, 2013: Livermore, CA 94550 The San Ramon Valley Wolves baseball team scored 10 runs and limited the host Livermore Cowboys to 6 in the Wolves league victory on Friday.
The Wolves (9-13) will now prepare for their match against Amador Valley (Pleasanton, CA). The Dons go into the East Bay match with a 13-9 record. In their last match, Amador Valley was overwhelmed by California (San Ramon, CA), 7-2, in a league match.
The Cowboys (11-11) will now prepare for their match against De La Salle (Concord, CA). The Spartans enter the East Bay bout with a 15-7 record. In their last bout, De La Salle was overwhelmed by Granada (Livermore, CA), 8-4, in a league bout.
Game Summary
Livermore Cowboys Varsity lost 10-6 in seven innings at Livermore HS on Friday, despite outhitting San Ramon Valley 13 to nine.
Ryan Ruley racked up two RBIs on two hits for Livermore Cowboys Varsity. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the second inning.
Even though Alex Barden allowed five runs over five innings he still recorded the victory. Barden struck out three, walked one and gave up nine hits.
San Ramon Valley jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. A double by Smithwick, plating Winaker started the inning off.
After a quick strike from San Ramon Valley, Livermore Cowboys Varsity responded with two runs in the first. Livermore Cowboys Varsity scored on an RBI double by Ruley and an RBI single by Daniel Slominski.
San Ramon Valley never trailed after scoring four runs in the fourth on a fielder's choice and a three-run home run .
