Mississippi High School Basketball - Simpson Academy trounces Richland
January 20, 2022: Richland, MS 39218 The Simpson Academy Cougars (Mendenhall, MS) basketball crushed the host Richland Rangers (Richland, MS), 70-14 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Cougars (19-9) will now prepare for their test against Park Place Christian Academy (Pearl, MS). The Crusaders go into the MAIS 5A District 2 test with a 0-5 record. In their last test, Park Place Christian Academy was trounced by Leake Academy (Madden, MS), 68-21, in a league test.
The Rangers now own a 0-7 record. They play next when they travel to Quitman for a 4A Region 5 test on Friday, January 28. Richland will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 12-0 league win over Mendenhall (Mendenhall, MS). The Panthers record now stands at 18-6.
