March 17, 2016: Parker, CO 80134 The Lutheran Lions baseball team scored 12 runs and limited the visiting Colorado Springs Christian Lions to 2 in the Lions non-league victory on Thursday.
The Lions (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Lancaster (Lancaster, NY). The Legends go into the non-league match with a 0-0 record.
The Lions (2-1) will now prepare for their match against Front Range Christian (Littleton, CO). The Falcons go into the non-league match with a 3-0 record. In their last match, Front Range Christian gained a win over Lyons (Lyons, CO), 7-1, in a non-league match.
Game Summary
Mike Ajayi did his best to will Colorado Springs Christian Lions Varsity to a win with a two-hit game, but Colorado Springs Christian Lions Varsity dropped a 12-2 contest to Lutheran on Thursday at Lutheran.
Ajayi had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the first and third innings.
Brogan got the win for Lutheran. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered five hits.
The bottom of the second saw Lutheran take an early lead, 2-0. Schauer kicked things off for Lutheran with a single. A stolen base then moved Schauer from first to second. Ciccio singled, bringing home Schauer. The scoreboard lit up again for Lutheran when scored on a steal of home.
Lutheran didn't relinquish the lead after scoring five runs in the third inning when it scored on a fielder's choice and three singles.
