The Falcons (20-6) will now prepare for their bout against Mt. Carmel (San Diego, CA). The Sundevils come into the Palomar contest with a 12-8 record. In their last contest, Mt. Carmel was routed by Poway (Poway, CA), 3-2, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Broncos play the Ramona Bulldogs (Ramona, CA) in a Palomar contest, on Wednesday, May 4. Rancho Bernardo will attempt to move on its 13-9 season record. The Bulldogs come into the contest with a 11-13 record after their 9-5 non-league win over Orange Glen (Escondido, CA).
Game Summary
Falcons capture 20 win season for 3rd year in a row. The Torrey Pines Falcons satyed in the hunt for the Palomar league title and they also captured a 20 win season for the 3rd straight year with a hard fought 3-0 victory at Rancho Bernardo last Friday. Junior Left handed pitcher, Lauren Hynes threw a 5 hit shut out to improve her record to 8-1 on the season as she lead the Falcons. Hynes, struck out 4 and walked none in moving her consecutive shut out innings streak to 14 in a row. The Falcons also stole a school record 11 bases in 11 attempts in the game. Sophomore, Julia Yacker went 2-4 with a run scored, an RBI and 3 stolen bases and Senior, Mary Lee chipped in going 2-3, with a run scored and a stolen base. Freshmen, Emma Wong added 3 stolen bases and 2 walks as Torrey Pines improved to 20-6-1 overall and 4-2 in the Palomar league. Rancho Bernardo dropped to 13-9-1 overall and 4-2 in the Palomar league.
