The Northampton-West Hurricanes basketball team scored 42 points and held the host Weldon Chargers to 39 in the Hurricanes league triumph on Tuesday.

The Hurricanes now sport a 4-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Gates County for a 1A Conference 3 contest on Friday, January 22. Northampton-West will meet a Red Barons team coming off a 52-40 league loss to North Edgecombe (Tarboro, NC). The Red Barons record now stands at 7-4.
