The Pocahontas Redskins basketball team scored 56 points and held the visiting Malvern Leopards to 28 in the Redskins league triumph on Saturday.

The Redskins now sport a 7-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Batesville for a 4A Region 3 contest on Monday, January 6. Pocahontas will meet a Pioneers team coming off a 72-58 non-league win over Trumann (Trumann, AR). The Pioneers record now stands at 13-0.

The Leopards (2-9) will now prepare for their contest against Stuttgart (Stuttgart, AR). The Ricebirds enter the non-league contest with a 7-5 record. In their last contest, Stuttgart was routed by Sheridan (Sheridan, AR), 44-39, in a non-league contest.
