Arizona High School Basketball - Florence tipped by Thatcher

The Thatcher Eagles basketball team scored 56 points and held the visiting Florence Gophers to 52 in the Eagles non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Eagles now sport a 11-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pima for a 2A East contest on Tuesday, January 14. Thatcher will meet a Roughriders team coming off a 37-36 non-league win over Scottsdale Christian Academy (Phoenix, AZ). The Roughriders record now stands at 11-4.

The Gophers (13-5) will now prepare for their contest against San Tan Foothills (Queen Creek, AZ). The Sabercats enter the 3A Central contest with a 4-8 record. In their last contest, San Tan Foothills was nudged by American Leadership Academy (Queen Creek, AZ), 60-33, in a league contest.
