The Downey Vikings basketball team scored 57 points and restricted the visiting Newbury Park Panthers to 52 in the Vikings non-league victory on Saturday.

The Vikings now sport a 5-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cerritos for a non-league contest on Monday, December 13.

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Granada Hills Charter Highlanders (Granada Hills, CA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 8. Newbury Park will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Highlanders go into the bout with a 3-2 record after their 58-39 non-league win over Kennedy (Granada Hills, CA).
