January 31, 2022: Canistota, SD 57012 The Canistota Hawks basketball team (Canistota, SD), was toppled 62-42 in Monday's non-league battle with the visiting DeSmet Bulldogs (DeSmet, SD)
The Bulldogs now possess a 13-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Elkton/Lake Benton for a non-league contest on Thursday, February 3. DeSmet will battle a Elks team coming off a 56-44 league loss to Deuel (Clear Lake, SD). The Elks record now stands at 8-5.
The Hawks (7-5) will now prepare for their contest against Viborg/Hurley (Viborg, SD). The Cougars enter the non-league contest with a 8-3 record. In their last contest, Viborg/Hurley was defeated by St. Mary (Dell Rapids, SD), 67-58, in a non-league contest.
