The Sun Valley Spartans basketball team (Monroe, NC), was overwhelmed 66-40 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC)

The Warriors now possess a 12-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Freedom for a non-league battle on Wednesday, January 5. Weddington will battle a Patriots team coming off a 80-46 non-league loss to Enka (Enka, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 8-3.

The Spartans (10-4) will now prepare for their battle against Mount Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, NC). The Tigers come into the non-league battle with a 9-5 record. In their last battle, Mount Pleasant was overwhelmed by North Stanly (New London, NC), 86-72, in a league battle.
