Maryland High School Basketball - La Lumiere edges Bishop Walsh
January 31, 2020: Cumberland, MD 21502 The La Lumiere Lakers (LaPorte, IN) basketball nipped the host Bishop Walsh Spartans (Cumberland, MD), 51-44 in Friday's non-league test.
The Lakers (15-4) will now prepare for their test against St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, NJ). The Gray Bees go into the non-league test with a 22-3 record. In their last test, St. Benedict's Prep got by Wasatch Academy (Mt. Pleasant, UT), 61-58, in a non-league test.
The Spartans now own a 11-7 record. They play next when they host Springdale Prep for a non-league test on Tuesday, February 4. Bishop Walsh will encounter a Lions squad coming off a 79-59 non-league loss to Mercersburg Academy (Mercersburg, PA). The Lions record now stands at 8-5.
