The McCool Junction Mustangs basketball team (McCool Junction, NE), was toppled 39-30 in Friday's league battle with the host Meridian Mustangs (Daykin, NE)

The Mustangs now possess a 5-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Shelby-Rising City for a C2 District 4 battle on Saturday, January 5. Meridian will confront a Huskies team coming off a 70-35 league win over Exeter-Milligan (Exeter, NE). The Huskies record now stands at 6-2.

The Mustangs (3-6) will now prepare for their battle against Harvard (Harvard, NE). The Cardinals come into the non-league battle with a 6-3 record. In their last battle, Harvard was toppled by Kenesaw (Kenesaw, NE), 63-28, in a league battle.
