New Mexico High School Basketball - Mayfield edges Las Cruces

The Mayfield Trojans (Las Cruces, NM) basketball nipped the host Las Cruces Bulldawgs (Las Cruces, NM), 38-37 in Friday's league test.

The Trojans (20-4) will now prepare for their test against Alamogordo (Alamogordo, NM). The Tigers go into the 5A District 3 test with a 10-18 record. In their last test, Alamogordo was tipped by Onate (Las Cruces, NM), 44-32, in a league test.

The Bulldawgs now own a 15-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gadsden for a 5A District 3 outing on Tuesday, February 14. Las Cruces will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 46-33 league loss to Mayfield (Las Cruces, NM). The Panthers record now stands at 10-16.
