The Tyler Lions (Tyler, TX) football defeated the visiting Ennis Lions (Ennis, TX), 40-29 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Lions face the Corsicana Tigers (Corsicana, TX) in a 5A Region II District 16 bout, on Friday, October 23. Tyler will attempt to advance on its 4-3 season record. The Tigers enter the bout with a 6-1 record after their 59-23 league win over Whitehouse (Whitehouse, TX).

The Lions (4-3) will now prepare for their bout against Lufkin (Lufkin, TX). The Panthers enter the 5A Region II District 16 bout with a 4-3 record. In their last bout, Lufkin defeated Lindale (Lindale, TX), 28-27, in a league bout.
