The La Vernia Bears (La Vernia, TX) basketball crushed the host Devine Warhorses (Devine, TX), 63-23 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Bears (1-0) will now prepare for their test against Lytle (Lytle, TX). The Pirates go into the non-league test with a 0-1 record. In their last test, Lytle was trounced by Medina Valley (Castroville, TX), 40-33, in a non-league test.
