California High School Basketball - Mesa Verde can't hold off San Juan
December 1, 2012: Citrus Heights, CA 95610 The San Juan Spartans basketball team scored 43 points and held the visiting Mesa Verde Mavericks to 36 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Spartans now sport a 4-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Victory Christian for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 4. San Juan will meet a Vikings team coming off a 52-28 non-league loss to Vista del Lago (Folsom, CA). The Vikings record now stands at 3-1.
The Mavericks (1-4) will now prepare for their contest against Highlands (North Highlands, CA). The Scots enter the non-league contest with a 0-2 record. In their last contest, Highlands was nudged by Hamilton (Hamilton City, CA), 61-10, in a non-league contest.
