Sydney Gomes has been named player of the year. "There is no one else worthy of this honor. Syd was definitely the heart and soul of this team. When she went down with the leg injury early in the second quarter during the State Semifinals, all of the teams hope and belief in pulling off the upset against the defending and eventual State Champion (St. Thomas Aquinas), dissipated. The Florida Southern signee led the team in all offensive categories (points, assists, rebounds, free throws), as well as defensive sacrifices (drawing 7 chargers) and led in steals."
