Elk River Elks (Elk River, MN) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Anoka Tornadoes (Anoka, MN), 67-40 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Elk River upgrades its record to 2-5 on the campaign. The Elks host Rogers (Rogers, MN) to play the Royals in a AAAA Section 8 bout on Thursday, January 12. The Royals come into the bout with a record of 4-6. Rogers lost 76-60 in their recent non-league bout against Osseo (Osseo, MN)

Next up, the Tornadoes play the Blaine Bengals (Blaine, MN) in a AAAA Section 7 bout, on Thursday, January 12. Anoka will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Bengals come into the bout with a 8-2 record after their 87-82 league win over Coon Rapids (Coon Rapids, MN).
