Indiana High School Basketball - Hammond thwarts Portage

January 10, 2023: Hammond, IN 46320

The Hammond Wolves (Hammond, IN) basketball knocked off the visiting Portage Indians (Portage, IN), 64-48 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Wolves (13-1) will now prepare for their test against Hammond Morton (Hammond, IN). The Governors go into the Great Lakes test with a 3-8 record. In their last test, Hammond Morton went down by East Chicago Central (East Chicago, IN), 78-51, in a league test.

The Indians now own a 9-5 record. They play next when they travel to Lake Central for a Duneland match on Friday, January 13. Portage will meet a Indians team coming off a 67-21 non-league win over Highland (Highland, IN). The Indians record now stands at 10-2.
