Illini Central Cougars (Mason City, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers (Mt. Pulaski, IL), 60-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Illini Central upgrades its record to 8-5 on the season. The Cougars host Clinton (Clinton, IL) to play the Maroons in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 14. The Maroons go into the bout with a record of 16-4. Clinton won 57-38 in their recent league bout against Shelbyville (Shelbyville, IL)

Next up, the Hilltoppers play the Midwest Central Raiders (Manito, IL) in a Tomahawk bout, on Friday, January 13. Mt. Pulaski will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 8-9 record after their 53-23 non-league win over Greenview (Greenview, IL).
