The Point Pleasant Boro Panthers (Point Pleasant, NJ) basketball nipped the visiting St. John-Vianney Lancers (Holmdel, NJ), 49-45 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Panthers (9-1) will now prepare for their test against St. Rose (Belmar, NJ). The Purple Roses go into the non-league test with a 9-0 record. In their last test, St. Rose got by Ranney (Tinton Falls, NJ), 61-43, in a non-league test.
The Lancers now own a 4-7 record. They play next when they host Raritan for a Shore A - Central test on Thursday, January 12. St. John-Vianney will encounter a Rockets squad coming off a 39-30 league win over Freehold Boro (Freehold, NJ). The Rockets record now stands at 9-0.
